چکیده
1. Introduction Microwave imaging is an electromagnetic (EM) inverse scattering application that has played an important role in various fields such as radar, remote sensing and biomedical applications. By subjecting the object under investigation (OUI) to microwave radiation, the measured scattered fields are used to produce images which are maps of spatial distributions of EM profiles inside the OUI.

Imaging of 3-D Dielectric Objects Using Far-Field Holographic Microwave Imaging Technique
This paper describes the working principle of a three-dimensional (3-D) holographic microwave imaging (HMI) method for imaging small inclusion embedded in a dielectric object. Using published dielectric properties of various materials, a 3-D mathematical model is developed under the MATLAB environment to validate the HMI on various dielectric objects. Results indicate that the 3-D HMI has an ab...
متن کاملThree-Dimensional Far-Field Holographic Microwave Imaging: An Experimental Investigation of Dielectric Object
This work presents experimental investigations of three-dimensional (3-D) far-field holographic microwave imaging (HMI) method for diagnosing inclusions within dielectric objects, and in particular, it relates to electromagnetic imaging to reconstruct dielectric properties of inhomogeneous, lossy bodies with arbitrary shape. The apparatus is designed for operation at a single frequency of 12.6G...
متن کاملMicrowave Imaging of Three-dimensional Dielectric Objects Using Micro-genetic Algorithm
An electromagnetic (EM) inverse scattering problem that involves the reconstruction of microwave images for three-dimensional (3-D) objects is considered in this paper. This ill-posed and nonlinear problem is treated as a global optimization problem, and is solved :by the application of micro-genetic algorithm (m-GA). The reconstructed results obtained by m-GA have shown that it is an effective...
متن کاملMicrowave Imaging of Multiple Dielectric Objects by Fdtd and Apso
An imaging approach to clear detection of two-dimensional geometries is proposed in this paper. The imaging reconstruction of multiple dielectric objects is retrieved by finite difference time domain (FDTD) method and the asynchronous particle swarm optimization (APSO) to determine the shape, location and permittivity of each dielectric object. The forward problem is solved based on the subgrid...
متن کاملParameter Search Algorithms for Microwave Radar-Based Breast Imaging: Focal Quality Metrics as Fitness Functions
Inaccurate estimation of average dielectric properties can have a tangible impact on microwave radar-based breast images. Despite this, recent patient imaging studies have used a fixed estimate although this is known to vary from patient to patient. Parameter search algorithms are a promising technique for estimating the average dielectric properties from the reconstructed microwave images them...
